David has an impressive history in professional rugby, as a representative player, coach, and administrator in both Australia and Japan. Haigh has participated in and captained numerous premiership-winning teams in Sydney Premier Rugby. He was rewarded by his excellent rugby abilities with professional contracts in Melbourne and Japan.
David spent his undergraduate career studying at the University of Sydney, where he earned a degree in Engineering. Post university, Haigh worked for seven years in management and business development, before pursuing his rugby passions full time. This career change was a purposeful move to work in an elite, high-performance sporting organization, with an opportunity to adapt and apply his management experience in addition to applying his relationship building strengths.
Haigh coached Australia’s premier U20 program to multiple premiership successes. Following his three years at Australia’s Premier rugby team. Haigh decided to further his passion in the rugby industry and spent the last six years as the Executive General Manager at Sydney University Rugby Club. Where he was responsible for managing and overseeing all elements of the highly successful SUFC business and rugby program.
David has a passion for inspiring young men and women to achieve their goals on and off the field, leading programs and delivering the strategy required to achieve high-performance outcomes.
