Legion Academy Spotlight-Thomas Wagner

We are excited to spotlight 6'1, backrower Thomas Wagner from San Diego, California.  Tommy has been playing for over 13 years and has been part of the Legion Academy for three years.
Tommy started his Rugby career with Randwick at age 4.  He then played for San Diego Aztecs, OMBAC Wallabies, Mustangs, Torrey Pines High School, Nike Rugby, Crusaders, Legion Academy, USA U18- All Americans and now again with Randwick. Tommy lives in Rancho Santa Fe and in addition to Rugby, enjoys playing Guitar.
Tommy is the first Legion Academy player to play Rugby overseas under the Legion's partnership with the New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney, Australia.  He recently spent time in Sydney training with the Waratahs Academy as well as three area Sydney teams.  After attending sessions with Randwick, Eastern Suburbs, and Sydney University he ultimately decided to go back to his original team and play with Randwick.  Tommy played two full games vs Sydney University at center with Randwicks U20's Colts side as well as two of the Men's games where he came off the bench in the grade three game and played the full grade four game.
Tommy will return to Sydney after the All-Americans tour to Amsterdam this summer and will finish the season with Randwick hopefully culminating in the Shute Shield Grand Final on September 2nd. He will then transition to full time training with the Waratahs Academy in September.
We are excited to see the bright future Tommy has in rugby! Go Legion!
