David Haigh

David Haigh is a rugby executive and community leader with a track record across elite performance, commercial growth, and grassroots development. With an engineering degree from the University of Sydney, he moved from engineering design and business development into high-performance sport leadership, including senior leadership roles at Sydney University Rugby Club, before relocating to the U.S. to lead the San Diego Legion organization.

As CEO, David helped drive investment in community rugby and youth access while positioning San Diego as a premier rugby destination—delivering landmark events at Snapdragon Stadium, including the All Blacks vs Fiji international test match in July 2024 (33,217 in attendance) and hosting the 2024 Major League Rugby Championship Final in San Diego. He also serves on the Legion Community Foundation Board of Directors, supporting values-based youth development and philanthropic programming across the region.

Outside of his professional roles, David and his wife actively volunteer their time to grow the grassroots game. They have three children currently playing SCYR youth rugby, and David coaches and supports community rugby programs throughout Southern California.
