Marcel Brache - Programs Director, Youth & Communities

Marcel Brache is the Legion Community Foundation’s Programs Director, Youth & Communities, bringing a rare combination of elite rugby leadership and hands-on community program delivery. A seasoned professional player and former USA Eagles international (30+ caps) and 2019 Rugby World Cup squad member, Marcel has captained at the highest levels—most recently in Major League Rugby with the San Diego Legion. In his community-facing work, Marcel has led school-based rugby delivery through the Imagine Rugby program, engaging more than 120 schools and reaching over 20,000 young people across Southern California, while also coaching and building defensive systems at the University of San Diego. At LCF, he leads youth rugby programming and community outreach—overseeing in-school and after-school delivery, clinics, camps, events, coach recruitment and development, and partnerships with schools, clubs, and local organizations to broaden access and strengthen pathways.
